Pep Guardiola has lavished praise on to Oscar Bobb for his impressive display for Manchester City in their 5-3 win against Yokohama F.Marinos.

The Norwegian wonderkid came on to replace Cole Palmer in the second half, who was arguably his side’s most impressive performer in the first 45.

As Oscar Bobb perhaps even ended up outperforming the English winger, Pep Guardiola reserved special praise for him.
What Pep Guardiola said about Oscar Bobb after Manchester City beat Yokohama F.Marinos
The 20-year-old looked the part right from the get-go, as his technical proficiency, eye for a pass and instant connection with Bernardo Silva on the right flank instantly shone through.

Dovetailing between a right-wing and a wide midfield role, the youngster, branded as ‘technically brilliant’ via the club’s official website was arguably his side’s best player on the day after Erling Haaland, who scored a brilliant brace off the bench.

Pep Guardiola was not shy in lauding Oscar Bobb, who grabbed the headlines for Manchester City with his sparkling showing against Yokohama F.Marinos
“Oscar made an incredible season for the second-team last year. He played unbelievable today. He can play three or four positions as well”, the Sky Blues boss said after the game, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.

Oscar Bobb could cement his presence as a first-team player
Pep Guardiola, as did any and everyone associated with Manchester City realise that Oscar Bobb looked right at home at senior level against Yokohama F.Marinos.

In fact, as Riyad Mahrez’s move to Al-Ahli seems imminent, City are in need of a winger, who much like the Algerian is both capable of beating his man and retaining possession.

Bobb showcased that he could be tailor-made for such a role out wide, as he certainly has the technical ability, maturity and confidence to vie for a first-team spot.

Both in midfield and as a winger, the highly-rated technician could prove to be an extremely useful squad option next season and a potential starter one day as well.
